  Sibongile Ndashe

  Sibongile Ndashe is the Founder and Executive Director of the Initiative for Strategic Litigation Africa (ISLA). She is a feminist who has worked as a public interest lawyer for the past 20 years. Her work focuses on litigating gender and sexuality before the African human rights systems and supporting litigation before national courts. She also designs capacity strengthening programmes in order to develop a pool of African feminist lawyers who can litigate on women’s rights issues and other lawyers who can provide quality legal representation to people who face violations because of their sexuality.

  Tshepo Ricki Kgositau
  

  Tshepo Ricki Kgositau is the Executive Director of Accountability International. She is a passionate human rights advocate for trans people and communities. Some of her work involved regional research on trans populations in Africa and transgender human rights monitoring and reporting to regional and international human rights mechanisms such as the UN and the African Commission. Ricki is also a co-founder of the Southern Africa Trans Forum (SATF).

  Daughtie Ogutu

  Daughtie Ogutu is an feminist, sex work and SRHR advocate in Africa and a leader within the sex workers rights' movement. She founded and led the regional African Sex Workers Alliance (ASWA). Daughtie was recently appointed as Coordinator of the Africa Key Populations Experts Group, a regional platform bringing together key populations activists in Africa in strategising on the impact of policies have on key populations. She is also the recipient of the Leadership Excellence Award at ICASA 2017 for "outstanding contribution towards the HIV/AIDS response in Africa."

  Christoforos Mallouris

  Dr Christoforos Mallouris currently works as Community Mobilisation Adviser at UNAIDS and is also the focal point on people who inject drugs. Previously he has worked for the Social Justice 4 All consulting firm in the Netherlands, served as the Director of Programmes at the Global Network of People Living with HIV (GNP+) (2008-2011) and at UNESCO (Paris) (2003-2008), working on the education’s sector response to AIDS.

  Mutisya Leonard

  Mutisya Leonard is a health and social justice activist with 11 years of experience in health, human rights advocacy and philanthropy. As Health GAP’s Director of Development, he leads initiatives for cultivating and stewarding support from individuals, foundations, multilateral organisations, and other entities, towards addressing gaps in global access to quality and comprehensive HIV treatment and prevention. Mutisya is passionate about advocacy and writing on the politics and ethics of philanthropy—particularly how and why philanthropy should disrupt silos and hierarchies, by engaging the agency of self-determining movements, and by centering gender, racial, and economic justice.

  George Mwai

  George Mwai is the Program Manager in charge of capacity support with UHAI EASHRI, an East African Sexual Health and Rights Initiative. UHAI EASHRI are Africa’s first indigenous activist fund supporting sexual and gender minorities and sex workers' human rights.

  Mlewa Kalama

  Mlewa Kalama has more than 15 years experience in project design, implementation and monitoring. He previously worked with KANCO (Kenya) as Programmes Director and is currently Technical Support Center Manager at the Eastern Africa National Networks of AIDS Service Organisations (EANNASO). Mlewa is a trained public health specialist.

  Phillipa Tucker

  Phillipa Tucker is a European-African human rights activist and currently serves as the Research Development Director at Accountability International. Her focus is on rights for the people who have been the most left behind. Phil uses research, policy analysis, community watchdogging, advocacy, and accountability as tools. She specialises in conceptualising new ways to work in the gaps and innovate the way work is done by activists, development partners and other stakeholders.

  Pascal Irungu Macharia

  Pascal Irungu Macharia is a Youth Champions for key populations. He is a researcher with HOYMAS, a male-sex-worker-led community-based organisation in Nairobi. He has been involved in research, programme design and community outreach which has given him insight into the phrase “Nothing about us without us” in programming for key populations.

  Micheal Ighodaro

  Micheal Ighodaro is currently the Program Manager at AVAC, providing strategic support for HIV prevention globally, while attending the New School. He has also worked with Housing Works and Outright Action International, first as a fellow and now as co-chair of the Board of Directors.

  Rouzeh Eghtessadi

  Rouzeh Eghtessadi is a public health specialist, and was recently appointed as Executive Director of SAfAIDS. She has over 20 years of service in Africa within the social justice, clinical, health promotion and broader human development sectors. Her professional passion spans promoting gender justice and SRHR, with special focus on advancing rights, wellbeing and dignity of adolescent girls and young women, children, and key and marginalized populations; through policy advocacy; community systems strengthening; leadership mentoring and organisational development approaches.

  Kassim Nyuni

  Kassim Nyuni is a drug user and a drug policies reform activist. He is the Chairperson of the African Network of People who use Drugs (AFRICANPUD). Kassim is also a peer educator and continues to advocate for the rights of persons who use drugs. Kassim also doubles as a board member of the International Network of People who use Drugs (INPUD) representing sub Saharan Africa. He is also a Key Populations representative in Zanzibar.

  Rose Wanjiku

  Rose Wanjiku is ASWA’s Membership & Communications Assistant. She is a media expert with more than 10 years’ experience in writing, editing, web content and social media management. She is a graduate of @WomeninNews programme at Wits University, She holds a BA in media and creative Arts from Moi University. Besides media work, Rose is passionate about human rights and has collaborate in various projects with women and Key Population groups for the past eight years. She has worked with Journalists for Justice hosted by the International Commission of Jurists (Kenya Section) and with other human rights commissions.

  Sheila Tlou

  Dr Sheila Tlou is a Botswana specialist in HIV/AIDS and women's health, and a nursing educator. She was Botswana's Minister of Health from 2004 to 2008. Dr Tlou is currently Chair of the Global HIV Prevention Coalition and is the former Director of the UNAIDS Regional Support Team for Eastern and Southern Africa. Dr Tlou is currently Chair of the Global HIV Prevention Coalition and is the former Director of the UNAIDS Regional Support Team for Eastern and Southern Africa. Dr Tlou has received many national and International awards, among them the 2017 Christianne Reimann award (the highest honor in the nursing profession) and is the 2003 winner of the International Nightingale Medal (awarded to those distinguished in the nursing field).

  Lucinda van de Heever

  Lucinda van de Heever is a South African who has worked in the South African NGO sector for the past 13 years. As an African feminist and human rights advocate, Lucinda’s passion and drive centres on gender, women’s human rights and sexual rights. Lucinda’s knowledge is grounded through reflecting together with local communities on rigid gender and sexuality norms and structural drivers which underpins gender based violence and gender inequality.

  Rev Jide Macaulay

  Reverend Jide Macaulay is the Founder and CEO of House Of Rainbow CIC. Openly gay British-Nigerian born in London, a Christian minister since 1998, a dynamic and an inspirational speaker, author, poet, pastor and preacher, HIV Positive Activist, holds a degree in Law, masters degree in Theology and Post-graduate certificate in Pastoral Theology. Jide focuses his ministry on inclusion and reconciliation of sexuality, spirituality and human rights. He writes for various Christian and secular Journals. He has authored several books, and has won several awards. He served from 2007 to 2013 as Executive Board member and Co Chair of Pan Africa International Lesbians and Gay Association. He is currently Board of Trustee at Kaleidoscope Trust UK, Chairperson INERELA+ Europe, nOSCARS Award winner 2014, 2017, 2018 and a Trained Volunteer Champion at Africa Children's Charity.

  Deyonce Cleopatra Naris

  Deyonce Naris is a feminist, human tights and gender activist who specialises in the human rights of Trans Diverse persons and currently serving as the National Coordinator of the Transgender, Intersex and Androgynous Movement of Namibia- an organisation that advocates for the rights and the bodily autonomy of Trans Diverse persons in Namibia. She has been trained as a human rights defender, has served in leadership roles on numerous youth movements and forums and has been a radio presenter tackling issues of Gender, Sexuality and sex workers rights issues. She chairs the Southern Africa Trans Forum (SATF).

  Richard Nininahazwe

  Richard Nininahazwe is from the community of drug users and he is fully involved in advocacy for decriminalising drug policies. He is the Coordinator of the African Network of People who use Drugs (AfricanPUD). Richard advocates for the rights of persons who use drugs and is also a Key Populations representative in Burundi. His biggest dream is to see Africa harmonising its drug policies across all the countries.
