Thirty six years ago Monsignor Tom Hartman and Roger Tilles began fulfilling their vision to create dialogue and understanding between Jewish and Catholic teens, with the first Project Understanding trip to Israel. Since then, year after year, that vision has continued to be fulfilled by opening hearts and minds not only of the participants but their families, as well.

Thirty six is a significant number in Jewish tradition - it means ‘double life’. Our hope for this event, with your generous support, is to start preparing for another 36 years, another double life of Project Understanding!
