Join us for lunch and a practical workshop with Kyle E. Chamberlin, Managing Attorney at Chamberlin Legal, covering the legal basics every founder should understand before signing (or writing) their next contract.
Most legal answers start with “it depends.” This session gives you enough of the fundamentals to know what it depends on, so you can spot risk early, ask better questions, and avoid disputes before they start.
We’ll explore:
- Legal concepts every business owner should know, from how “the law” actually works to employees vs. contractors, entity types, and litigation
- Indemnification and insurance: what they are and why they don’t matter until they really matter
- Client contracts that work: why a clear contract is a good contract, why the parties matter, and the paradox of templates
- What belongs in a client service agreement: who, what, when, where, why and how
This session is designed for founders, small business owners, and anyone who signs agreements on behalf of their organization. No legal background required.
