NATHAN LACHENDRO

10.10.1973 - 11.18.2022

On November 18th, 2022, the world lost its brightest, most humble soul, when Nathan Lachendro, of Gig Harbor, WA, was taken too soon. He meant so much to so many, but he shined the brightest as husband and father.

Nathan loved airplanes. Professionally, aerospace was his calling and his life’s work. In 1996, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He continued his education at Purdue University, earning a Master of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering in 2000. He worked as the Engineering Program Manager at Raisbeck Engineering for almost 23 years.

He was a brilliant engineer; his mind never stopped working. Yet, he was the happiest and most comfortable hanging out with family and friends.

Nathan was a phenomenal dad and a loving, supportive, and devoted husband. He married the love of his life, Sam San, in 2013. Sam and Nathan supported one another in their careers, friendships, passions, and made a beautiful family with their two children.

Nathan is survived by his beloved wife, Samoeun (Sam) San Lachendro and their two cherished children, Theoren and Lillienne; his parents, Frank and Jayne (Cornwall) Lachendro; his sister, Wendy Lachendro; his parents-in-law, Hon San and Veth Keo; his sister- and brother-in-law Voeun (Joan) San Chase (Michael Chase) ; and sister-in-law Roeun (Gina) San (Phyrun Phoeung). Nathan is also survived by many close relatives and friends, who regard him as family.

Those who knew Nathan Lachendro are the better for it and carry his spark with them. He was a remarkable man who made a powerful impact on so many. He will be remembered always and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and colleagues.

“The best. He was just the best.”

His name means "Gift From God." And he truly was a gift to all.

Thanks for a lifetime worth of friendship, love, and memories.
