Reducing the Peak: Distributed Energy Solutions to Meet New York's Climate GoalsThis panel discussion will focus on load reduction technologies and programs that New York will need to implement for successful building and transportation electrification. Reforming and improving the interconnection process is a priority for ACE members, for the NYISO, and for FERC. Come hear how changes to the interconnection process could reduce timelines, increase transparency, and reduce risk. This panel will discuss if and how NYISO’s process can align with FERC Order 2023 and allow projects to interconnect in time to meet the 2030 NY Climate Act goals.

The panel will focus on the steps New York State should be taking to ensure a smooth and successful building electrification transition. With the implementation of the Federal Inflation Reduction Act, the new Public Service Commission Order modifying NYSERDA and the utilities’ New Efficiency: New York programs, New York City’s Local Law 97, and the recent State building code changes, including the All-Electric Buildings Act, the panel will discuss the steps New York should take for an effective and efficient building electrification transition.
