The CSG Summit is for communities to engage, learn, and build on best practices with the Summer Work and Travel (SWT) program. 

Communities across the U.S. are welcome to join us as we discover valuable tools to engage our communities and encourage support of exchange programs.

We encourage you to extend this invite to all businesses, civic leaders, and members of your communities who are active in the SWT program.

This event is organized by J-1 Visa Summer Work Travel program sponsor organizations, and the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce with consultation from the U.S. Department of State.

Summit Location

The 2019 Community Support Group Summit will be held at the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce at 4100 Gretna Rd. in Branson, Missouri. Free parking will be available on-site and staff will be present to welcome you each day. 

Meetings will be held in the Multi-Purpose rooms on the first floor.

Summit attendees will have an opportunity to experience some of the best the Branson area has to offer, all included with your registration:

  • Enjoy a Welcome Reception with wine, beer, appetizers and a cash bar at Big Cedar Lodge on Nov. 12
  • Light breakfast and lunch meals each day during the Summit
  • Transportation option to off-site activities
  • Andy B's Happy Hour at the Branson Landing
  • Lunch and summit sessions at Silver Dollar City where you will be able to enjoy theme park rides and the holiday lights and festivities at the park

  • Tuesday, November 12

    Welcome Reception - 6:00 pm

    Wine Cellar at Top of the Rock, Big Cedar Lodge

    A reception for Summit attendees will be provided, complete with heavy hors d'oeuvres, wine & beer and a cash bar.

  • Wednesday, November 13

    Summit, Day 1 - 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

    Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce

    Breakfast will be served beginning at 7:30 am presentations will take place from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm followed by Happy Hour at Andy B's at the Branson Landing. Lunch will be included. More information to be announced.

  • Thursday, November 14

    Summit, Day 2 - 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

    Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce

    Breakfast will be served beginning at 7:30 am and presentations will take place from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Lunch will be included. Part of the day will be spent off-site at Silver Dollar City Theme Park. 

  • Friday, November 15

    Summit, Day 3 - 8:30 -10:30 am

    Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce

    Breakfast will be served beginning at 7:30 am followed by a debrief and action-planning session beginning at 8:00 am. The Summit will conclude at 11:00 am.

Registration and Sponsorship

COMMUNITY MEMBER REGISTRATION

The Community Member Registration is general admission to the Summit and appropriate for community members, employers, and CSG members to attend the Summit. The registration fee for Summit attendees is just $25 per person and will cover Summit materials, transportation to and from specific activities, and lunches during the day.  


BUSINESS SPONSORSHIP

Employers and members of the local business community or CSG in Branson may support the Summit through a Business Sponsorship. The $250 sponsorship includes up to three registrations to the Summit (email Heather to let us know who will attend) and your company logo displayed on Summit materials. In-kind sponsorships will also be recognized. All Summit Sponsors will be recognized by name throughout the event.


SWT VISA SPONSORS ONLY

SWT Visa Sponsors have a few options to support and attend the 2019 CSG Summit:

    • SWT Visa Sponsor (Single Attendee) -  for Visa Sponsors sending just one representative to the Summit. Single Attendees receive one registration to the Summit and are also Summit Sponsors which includes their company logo listed on all event materials.
    • SWT Visa Sponsor (2 Attendees) - for Visa Sponsors sending two representatives to the Summit. Includes two registrations to the Summit and Summit Sponsorship which includes their company logo listed on all event materials.
    • SWT (Additional Attendees) - This option is ONLY for Visa Sponsors already sending two attendees. Includes ONE additional registration to the Summit. Select the total number of ADDITIONAL attendee registrations/sponsorships needed.

Financial Assistance Available

Don't let a lack of funding stop you from participating in the Summit this year. Financial assistance is available to assist communities with limited budgets to cover transportation, lodging or Community Member Registration fees.

BRANSON AIRPORT (BKG) 10 miles south of Branson

Flying to Branson (BKG)

Flying to Branson from anywhere in the United States is easy due to several nearby airports offering expanded commercial service. The closest is the Branson Airport, which opened in 2009 and provides low-cost flights to Branson. Additionally, low-cost fares are available on several airlines flying into Springfield-Branson National Airport, just 50 miles north of Branson.

Branson Airport is served by Frontier Airlines to/from Chicago International Airport (ORD), Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), Denver (DEN), and beyond. 

VIA Airlines has the Ozarks region’s only nonstop to/from Austin (AUS). Passengers travelling on VIA Airlines will be able to do so in the comfort of the carrier’s 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145 regional jets.

SPRINGFIELD-BRANSON NATL. AIRPORT (SGF) 50 miles north of Branson

Flying to Springfield (SGF)

The Springfield-Branson National Airport (SGF) is served by a variety of airlines, including Allegiant Air, American Airlines, Delta and United, making it an easy destination for travelers from around the country. Springfield-Branson National Airport is roughly 50 miles north of Branson (a 45-60-minute drive, depending on time of day and driving conditions).

SGF Airport Transportation Options

MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS

The Branson Loop will be your preferred method of transportation from the Springfield airport (SGF) only to  downtown Branson.

Prices are one-way, $90 for 2 travellers with $10 for each additional traveller picked up/dropped off at the same time and date.  To make your reservation, please call (417) 320-6035 at least 24 hours in advance of your arrival/departure.

Uber and Lyft are also available to Branson and the rate is about $80-$100 one way. Taxis will be about the same depending on the company you use.

ANOTHER OPTION IN THE WORKS

We are also working on coordinating a small-scale lower-cost or complimentary shuttle service from SGF to Branson using rented or personal vehicles. This will be available to groups of attendees coming in during similar time windows and limited to about 25-30 individuals + luggage. Priority will be given to attendees who have asked for financial assistance.

NW ARKANSAS REGIONAL AIRPORT (XNA) 98 miles SW of Branson

NW Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA)

The Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA) is another major area airport facility that opened in 1998. The airport serves primarily the Northwest Arkansas cities of Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers, Siloam Springs and Springdale, but it's also less than two hours from the Branson/Lakes Area. The airport is served by flights on American Airlines, Delta, United, and Allegiant Air.

The airport's location makes it convenient for visitors who also want to visit Eureka Springs, Ark. on their way to Branson, or the Joplin, Mo., area.
