Andrea Schorr

Andrea Schorr is the Associate Director of Collections and Acquisitions of the P. I. Nixon Medical Historical Library.

She oversees and develops the services and resources that support the teaching, learning, and research needs of the UT Health San Antonio community. The Resource Management division provides the following services: Collection Development, Interlibrary Loan, and Archives & Special Collections.

Guest Speaker: Diane Fotinos

Diane Fotinos is the Senior Curator for Special Collections & Archives at the P. I. Nixon Medical Historical Library.

Diane curates the Nixon Library’s rare books and artifacts related to the history of medicine and supports university-wide records management. She provides research assistance and offers tours, orientations, and instructional sessions. She oversees archives processing and coordinates exhibits.

P. I. Nixon, MD, 1883-1965, founded Bexar County Medical Society Library

P. I. Nixon, MD

Dr. Patrick Ireland Nixon was a San Antonio physician, medical historian and founding member of the Bexar County Medical Library Association. Dr. Nixon amassed a large collection of rare medical books for the association, which were later donated to the University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio (now known as UT Health San Antonio) in 1970.
